Benin presidential election update

In Benin’s presidential election, as reported by Adam Carr (whose source is indicated as the National Autonomous Election Commission):

    Boni Yayi, 31.9%
    Adrien Houngbédji, 25.2%
    Bruno Amoussou, 19%
    Léhady Soglo, 8.6%

No other candidate (and there were twenty-three others) had over 4%.

That’s fragmentation!

The top two will meet in a runoff approximately two weeks after the certification of the first-round result.

For a longer discussion of the election and the significance of Benin’s presidential system, see my post from 5 March, the day of the first round.
